NextStep Domestic Violence Project receives grant from The Mary Kay Foundation

ELLSWORTH – The NextStep Domestic Violence Project has been selected as an award recipient of the 2020 Domestic Violence Shelter grant from The Mary Kay Foundation. The $20,000 grant is in support of the meaningful work that NextStep does in Hancock and Washington Counties to eliminate domestic violence by providing individuals and families with a sanctuary where they can discover dignity and empowerment.

This year the Mary Kay Foundation is providing a total of $1.1 million dollars to shelters throughout the United States. Over the course of more than two decades, The Mary Kay Foundation has awarded over $78 million to women’s shelters and domestic violence service providers, as well as cancer research programs throughout the United States.

“This grant provides Next Step with essential resources that allow us to serve individuals and families from across Hancock and Washington Counties and beyond. We are honored to have been selected as a 2020 recipient for this important funding,” stated Kelly Brown, Acting Director.
