Finance Manager (Deadline to apply: October 1, 2022)
NextStep Domestic Violence Project seeks a Finance Manager who will work closely with the Executive Director with the responsibility of financial management.
The Finance Manager will ensure:
Grants and other revenues are correctly booked and expensed;
Prudent fiscal practices are followed;
Important employment, legal, and financial procedures are consistently reviewed, updated, and documented.
Experience with QuickBooks is necessary and experience with the coordination and oversight of an annual audit and management of federal, state, and municipal funding streams is preferred.
Position requirements include:
College degree and at least two years' experience as a CFO, accounting, finance management or a related field, or a demonstrated, comparable combination of experience and education, preferably in a nonprofit setting;
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and vehicle insurance;
A landline or cellphone with reliable service;
A satisfactory response to background checks required by government agencies;
Emotional maturity and stability;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Stellar organizational and time management skills;
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
High ethical standards;
Willingness to learn and grow.
This is a full-time, salaried position based in Ellsworth, Maine, with some in-state travel required. Our primary operating hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some night and weekend work required. Salary range is $45,000-$52,000, depending on experience, with excellent benefits.
